Megan Deines almost single-handedly erased any upset hopes Abilene Christian may have had after outscoring Kansas State in the first quarter Monday night.
The senior transfer began the second quarter with 10 unanswered points to stake K-State to a big early lead and help send the Wildcats to a 76-45 victory in their home opener at Bramlage Coliseum.
Finishing with a game-high 20 points, Deines opened the second quarter with a 3-pointer to tie the game at 20, followed that with a jumper before stealing the ball on Abilene’s next possession and going all the way for a layup.
