Dean Wade hits game-winner to lift K-State over Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. — Dean Wade had a first half that would shake the confidence of a veteran player, let alone a freshman playing his first true college road game.

Wade missed all five of his shots in the first half of Kansas State’s game at Georgia on Friday and scored one point.

“The assistant coaches and the older guys told me to keep my head up and keep shooting and they were going to go in,” Wade said on the postgame radio show.

Wade scored the first seven points of the second half and scored K-State’s final four points, knocking down a 15-foot baseline jumper with four seconds remaining to lift the Wildcats to a 68-66 victory over the Bulldogs.
