K-State football coach Bill Snyder not only told Gen. Richard Myers he should apply for the K-State president job, he led a chant to persuade him.
That’s according to athletic director John Currie, who spoke to reporters Tuesday evening. The Kansas Board of Regents named Myers, who’d been serving as the university’s interim president, to the post earlier in the day.
“The pregame event on Thursday night before the Stanford game, Coach Snyder tried to get up a chant going like ‘Vote for Myers,’ or something like that,” Currie said. “I’m not sure if he was talking about the president of the United States or the K-State president at the time.
