MANHATTAN — He led Kansas State’s football team in rushing last season, but Charles Jones believes he wasn’t in peak form.
Jones split time at running back with senior DeMarcus Robinson, but Jones was the more effective runner with 540 yards on 133 carries (Robinson had 113 carries for 437 yard). Sharing time may have prevented both from getting into a full flow and rhythm, and an injury — which wasn’t disclosed until late in the season — hampered Jones’ effectiveness the majority of the year.
“It affected me a good bit,” Jones said of the injury.
