Holy Cross had finished ninth out of ten teams in the Patriot League, and had gone the entire season without winning a single game on the road... until the tournament, when they suddenly started behaving abominably as guests. They went to Baltimore and beat Loyola by five. They went to Lewisburg and beat Bucknell by five. They they went to West Point and destroyed Army in a 60-38 rout.
