Cats to open indoor track season

The Kansas State track and field team kicked off the 2015-16 indoor season today with the Carol Robinson Pentathlon, with the K-State Winter Invitational set for Saturday at Ahearn Field House.

Friday’s events began Friday morning with the men’s 60-meter hurdles and continued throughout the day, concluded with the women’s 800-meter run.

Junior Adam Deterding was vying to win the Carol Robinson Pentathlon title for the second straight season after winning last year’s meet with a total score of 3,689 points.

On Saturday, field events are slated to begin at 11 a.m., followed by track events, which will begin at 2 p.
