It wouldn’t seem like a win against an average Omaha team would mean so much more to the Kansas State baseball than any other win.
But when that win ends a seven-game losing streak, the 11-3 victory Tuesday night at Tointon Family Stadium seemed monumental to the Wildcats.
“It feels so good,” K-State outfielder Clayton Dalrymple said. “I mean, we’ve had some big wins here at K-State, but I don’t necessarily know if they’ve felt this good. Just because we had that monkey on our back and we needed a big one.”
The win puts K-State (12-13, 0-3) back on the right footing after getting swept in two consecutive home series and losing a road game at Creighton.
