Having a few extra days to prepare for Baylor nearly paid off for Kansas State last week, losing by only seven to the second-ranked Bears.
“Having that time really got us fresh and we had a lot of time to study Baylor,” K-State running back Charles Jones said following the Wildcats’ 31-24 loss at home to Baylor. “We had a great week of practice and it helped us with the success we had (Thursday).”
Sure, the Wildcats played the Bears close — even outscoring Baylor in the second half — but it was still a loss, just like the previous four games before that.
