Cats drop twin bill at Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas — Kansas State was swept in a doubleheader at No. 22 Texas Tech on Saturday, losing Game 1, 10-3, before dropping Game 2, 10-4, at Rip Griffin Park.

The Wildcats (12-16, 0-5 Big 12) allowed multiple runs in five of the eight innings that Texas Tech (19-8, 7-1 Big 12) scored across both contests. In Game 1, a seven-run second inning by the Red Raiders proved too much while they pulled away in Game 2 with runs over the final four frames to break open a 3-1 contest.

K-State was also out-hit, 22-17, over the twin bill.
