NORMAN, Okla. — Kansas State yielded 13 hits, including six extra-base hits, and Oklahoma starting pitcher Alec Hansen carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning while striking out nine as the Wildcats lost to the Sooners, 12-0, on Sunday at L. Dale Mitchell Park in a run-rule, seven-inning game.
K-State (24-25, 6-12 Big 12) dropped the series in Norman despite winning the opener on Friday because of big innings by Oklahoma (24-23-1, 9-12 Big 12) in the early going of the finale. The Sooners scored five runs in the second and four in the third to open a 9-0 advantage before three in the sixth put the Wildcats up against the mercy rule.
