Cats beat old foe Texas A&M, 33-28

HOUSTON — As Kansas State players hoisted the Texas Bowl trophy over their heads a familiar sound rang out inside NRG Stadium.

We own Texas.

The Wildcats beat former Big 12-rival Texas A&M, 33-28, on Wednesday to complete a clean sweep of Power 5 teams from Texas and claim their first bowl win since 2013.

K-State (9-4) quarterback Jesse Ertz completed 14 of 20 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown and rushed for two touchdowns to earn the bowl’s Most Valuable Player award, and helped the Wildcats hold on to the lead in the second half.
