At least one person is standing up for the Kansas State band as it defends itself from accusations of turning its halftime performance at Saturday's football game into an X-rated romp.
That person is none other than James T. Kirk, captain of the USS Enterprise. Well, it's actually William Shatner, who played Kirk on "Star Trek," and was the commander of the he iconic spacecraft. Shatner expressed outrage at the Big 12 conference for its reaction to the band's formation, which provoked Kansas State to announce self-imposed punishment, including a $5,000 fine.
