Burns’ TD lifts Wildcats past Mountaineers, into bowl eligibility

There is no need for Kansas State to back into a bowl game this season.

Morgan Burns made sure about that Saturday night, returning a kickoff 97 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter to help rally the Wildcats past West Virginia, 24-23, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

K-State won three straight games to end the regular season and earn bowl eligibility — the old-fashioned way — with a 6-6 overall record.

Finishing with victories over Iowa State, Kansas and now West Virginia, the Wildcats are on the verge of playing in their sixth straight bowl game.
