Topeka native C.B. McGrath’s loss apparently will be Bruce Weber’s gain.
Mawdo Sallah, a 6-foot-9 forward who spent the past three years at Mount St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Md., announced Monday on Twitter that he plans to transfer to Kansas State.
Sallah, who missed the 2015-16 season with an injury, will have two years of eligibility remaining. He is expected to graduate in August, making him available to play immediately for the Wildcats under NCAA transfer rules.
Sallah appeared headed to UNC-Wilmington — under the direction of first-year coach McGrath, a Topeka West and Kansas graduate who served for years as an assistant to Roy Williams — until four days ago when Weber dismissed forward Isaiah Maurice.
