We needed a break from Kansas State football, so Manhattan Mercury sports editor Ryan Black joined us this week for a basketball podcast. It’s fun to have some optimism, at least for now, with newcomers like Mark Smith, Ismael Massoud and Markquis Nowell ready to join a somewhat promising core headed by Nijel Pack and Davion Bradford. Ryan says there are a few reasons to believe this year could be different, although of course there are no guarantees for Bruce Weber.
Listen to the end and you’ll even hear a little discussion about what Bruce needs to do to keep his job, whether realignment will make the Big 12 and even better men’s basketball conference, and the benefits of bringing Shane Southwell and Curtis Kell back to the bench.
