MANHATTAN — Bob Krause, who served in several administrative roles at Kansas State including acting athletics director, passed away Wednesday after a battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.
Krause was vice president for institutional development at K-State from 1986-2009, serving under president Jon Wefald. He was instrumental in increasing the university’s enrollment and fund-raising.
Following the departure of athletics director Tim Weiser in 2008, Krause was named acting AD along with Jim Epps. He was forced to resign in 2009 due to a controversy involving a secret contract providing an increased buyout for then-football coach Ron Prince.
