Rolando Blackman was one of the most decorated players in Kansas State history, and on Friday his place on college basketball lore was cemented.
Blackman was inducted into the National College Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday as part of a class of seven.
Blackman, who played at K-State from 1977-81, was the 1980 Big Eight Player of the Year and an All-American. As a senior, Blackman led the Wildcats to a memorable win over No. 1 Oregon State in the NCAA tournament, hitting a last second shot to knock off the Beavers, 50-48.
At Saturday’s K-State football game against Iowa State, Blackman said he felt a great deal of gratitude toward the people who helped him during his time in college, from teammates and coaches, to professors and members of the Manhattan community.
