Zach Shackelford orally committed to Kansas State in July, and it’s obvious the Wildcats want to hold on to the three-star recruit as he gains interest from other schools.
K-State football coach Bill Snyder thinks enough of Shackelford -- a 6-foot-4, 295-pound offensive lineman -- that he flew to his hometown of Belton, Texas with offensive line coach Charlie Dickey for an in-person recruiting visit on Thursday.
Snyder rarely leaves Manhattan for recruiting purposes. So his presence made a bit of a stir on social media when Shackelford posted a photo with him on Twitter.
Texas is also making a late recruiting push for Shackelford.
