The annual Big 12 Preseason poll, as voted on by the coaches, was released Friday morning by the league office, and the top of the poll is dominated by the Sunflower State. As a surprise to no one, the Kansas Jayhawks were the unanimous choice for first place, receiving all nine first-place votes (coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team).
Slotting in second, and receiving Bill Self’s first-place vote, are the Wildcats, fresh off their Elite Eight run and returning 10 letterman, including every starter from the end of the season.
