If they weren’t already, the unbeaten Baylor Bears should be plenty motivated to put on a good show for a national television audience Thursday night against Kansas State in Manhattan.
The Bears — No. 2 in the Associated Press Top 25 — were ranked only sixth Tuesday when the College Football Playoff selection committee released its rankings for the first time this season. Baylor (7-0) trailed Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, Alabama and Notre Dame in the debut CFP poll.
The Bears are among 11 undefeated teams in the FBS — neither Alabama (7-1) nor Notre Dame (7-1) can make that claim, by the way — but their most difficult games have yet to be contested, in part because of conference scheduling and also because Baylor once again played a weak nonconference slate.
