DES MOINES, Iowa — The prospect of facing the No. 1 overall seed as a first-round opponent in the NCAA Tournament would be cause for concern for any No. 16 seed, but a matchup against Kansas was coveted by one Austin Peay player and his father.
Governors guard Khalil Davis is a senior from Kansas City, Mo., and the son of former Kansas State player Tyrone Davis. While both father and son don’t hold ill will against the Jayhawks, they were thrilled with the first-round draw in the South Regional at 3 p.m. Thursday at Wells Fargo Arena.
