Auburn announced Tuesday that it will open the 2019 season in Dallas against Oregon, continuing a trend of premier nonconference games for the program. The Tigers played on the road at Kansas State last season, this year will take on Louisville and in 2016 and '17 have a home-and-home with Clemson.
So while there's been much made of Power 5 teams needing to ramp up their schedules in the College Football Playoff era, Auburn has already gotten a head start -- and given its players, coaches and fans something to get excited about in the process.
