200th win much like the others

Everybody remembers the highlights: The 1998 team that went undefeated in the regular season, the 2003 team that demolished Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game, the 2012 team that won another conference championship.

They remember the big names: Michael Bishop, Darren Sproles, Ell Roberson.

But the fact that Bill Snyder won his 200th game as the football coach at Kansas State University is really attributable to a lot of games like Saturday’s: games in which the Wildcats had a roster of nobodies, grinding away and somehow ending up with more points than the other team.

The fact that Saturday’s win came in a humdrum game against the University of Kansas — which has remained a doormat for most of a generation — does not diminish it.
