Kansas State quarterback Alex Delton's eligibility point has been a big question as he was limited to just two games last year due to injury, but the football staff hasn't acknowledged that he has officially received a medical redshirt.
Well, ESPN's Max Olson may have shed some light on that situation in their latest Big 12 Roundtable, saying that Delton was "technically" a redshirt freshman:
I know technically he's a redshirt freshman this year, but I'm going with Kansas State QB Alex Delton because he did play in two games last year. Considering the challenges K-State faced at the QB spot last year, it's sort of a miracle Bill Snyder still took that team to a bowl. The Wildcats really need a (healthy) quarterback to elevate their offense, and Delton should eventually be that guy. Can he step up this spring and prove he's ready?
The Wildcats are looking to find some kind of stability at quarterback after playing four different players at the position - including one wide receiver. Delton is competing with Jesse Eritz and Joe Hubener for the starting job.
