The Kansas State Wildcats haven't been known for burning up the recruiting trail under head coach Bill Snyder, but K-State has their sets sight on some of the premier prospects in the country this time around. Here are the top five targets Kansas State is recruiting in the 2017 class:
5) S J.R. Pace (Atlanta, GA)
Pace has very good size at 6'1" and 190 lbs, but his biggest asset is his ball skills. He has soft hands and is excellent at high pointing the football, and he is great at reading opposing quarterbacks.
4) C Creed Humphrey (Shawnee, OK)
Humphrey already has the size and strength to compete at the major D-I level right away at 6'4" and 301 pounds. He's the No. 3 center in the country and is getting a lot of attention from both Texas A&M and Oklahoma, but KSU is very much in the mix.
3) WR Al'dontre Davis (Lutcher, LA)
David would provide the Wildcats with a much-needed playmaker. Even though he's only 6'0" and 190 lbs, he plays much better and almost never loses out on a jump ball. He also has some of the most reliable hands in the country.
2) QB Jack Sears (San Clemente, CA)
Sears would be the prize of this class for Kansas State. The No. 14 pro-style quarterback in the country, Sears has the arm-strength and accuracy to be a potential program changer. UCLA, Duke and Northwestern are thought to be the favorites for him, but K-State is in the next tier.
1) OT Tony Gray (Lawrenceville, GA)
It's going to be hard to pull Gray away from Georgia, yet the Wildcats are doing all they can and are making their presence known. He is ranked as the No. 19 tackle and No. 107 overall prospect in the country.
