Frank Mason came up with play after play in the clutch, lifting the Kansas men's basketball team — playing as Team USA — to an 84-77 victory over Germany in the championship game of the World University Games.
It's the first time American's men's basketball team has won gold in the World University Games since 2005.
Mason lifted KU at the end of regulation, making a pair of free throws with 21.7 seconds left to tie the game at 66. He stole the ball on the ensuing possession but wasn't able to get a shot up on the other end after Germany stripped it away.
