LAWRENCE — The 15-year-old boy from Stockton was just like his buddies, screaming out numbers of Kansas players in the corner section of Memorial Stadium.
“8! 8! 8! 24! 24! 9! 9! 9!”
The young KU fans were able to get the attention of most of the Jayhawks. One by one, the players walked over following a 62-7 loss to No. 14 Oklahoma and tossed their gloves into the stands.
A few seconds later, the Stockton boy in the No. 15 KU jersey was asked how many gloves he’d been able to retrieve.
“Too many,” he said with a smile, before showing off that he’d grabbed six different mitts.
