Sept. 30, 2016 — Recruit Billy Preston attends Kansas basketball’s annual Late Night in the Phog as part of his official visit to KU. He stays at the Oread Hotel in Lawrence along with his mother, Nicole Player, and her partner, Timicha Kirby. After Late Night, Adidas consultant T.J. Gassnola, in his room at the Oread, meets with Player and Kirby and tells them to not take money from other people and instead go to him, as he believed he could conceal the payments better.
