LAWRENCE — Kansas quarterback Montell Cozart believes teammate Bazie Bates thinks too highly of his own abilities on the football field.
Not Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium, mind you — on the virtual turf Madden NFL 17. Upon hearing that Bates snubbed him from a list of the Jayhawks’ most skilled players of the video game franchise, Cozart fired back with a bit of trash talk.
“Bazie doesn’t have any credibility, so…” Cozart said with a smile. “He hasn’t played against (offensive lineman) Clyde McCauley or I, so he can’t talk.”
Cozart and his KU teammates have had more opportunities to hone their Madden skills — as well as in foosball, pool, air hockey, and even Pac-Man — thanks to the new players’ lounge connected to the recently renovated team locker room at Anderson Family Football Complex.
