NORTH DAKOTA STATE 6, LAWRENCE — Kansas made a surprising move when it hired Turner Gill as its new coach prior to the 2010 season. One game into Gill’s tenure, a glimpse was provided of the tailspin the Jayhawks would soon be in. North Dakota State managed just 168 yards of offense, yet made enough critical stops to hand Kansas a 6-3 defeat in Gill’s debut. The win proved to be one of several the Bison would record against Big 12 opponents while emerging as a Championship Subdivision powerhouse.
