Jayhawks face in-state rival for first time since controversial finish
LAWRENCE — Svi Mykhailiuk knows his team’s next contest will no walk in the park.
The No. 3 Kansas basketball team will travel to Manhattan for a Sunflower Showdown clash with in-state rival Kansas State at 8 p.m. Monday at Bramlage Coliseum. The Jayhawks are in the midst of a scheduling gauntlet against teams all projected to make the NCAA Tournament, and the game against the Wildcats represents that stretch’s fifth and final step.
There is little doubt Mykhailiuk will likely draw the most ire from the K-State faithful Monday — and for good reason.
