MANHATTAN — The second time around Kansas State’s women finished what they started.
After squandering much of a 16-point lead to open Wednesday night’s Sunflower Showdown, the No. 25 Wildcats opened the second half with another strong surge that propelled them to a xx-xx victory over Jessica Washington and Kansas at Bramlage Coliseum.
Despite a 16-0 run to start the game, K-State led only 33-26 at halftime thanks to a shooting display that was colder than the weather outside. K-State hit only 12 of 35 first-half shots – including 4 of 14 in the second quarter – to allow the Jayhawks to battle their way back into the game.
