LAWRENCE — Montell Cozart trotted off the field for the last time. He walked toward the KU sideline, popping his helmet off and grabbing a seat on the bench. He took a swig from his green plastic water bottle, eventually dropping his arms and looking on toward the field.
Oklahoma State was one first down away from being able to bleed the clock, a formality given the 44-20 score. As Cozart watched the first play, a 1-yard run, his moment of solitude was interrupted. Several teammates and coaches walked over to him, patting him on the chest and passing along words of encouragement.
