When Frank Mason got to Lawrence I never could have imagined him being a national player of the year or an NBA draft pick. Today, he is both. The consensus national player of the year was taken 34th overall by the Sacramento Kings tonight. Although the Kings also took De’Aaron Fox, Frank Mason should be able to get some good minutes off the bench right away for a Kings team that sorely needs some wins.
Mason averaged 20.9 points per game and 5.2 assists per game for the Jayhawks, and is the only player in Big 12 history to score 20+ ppg and average 5+ assists per game.
