WACO, Texas — Baylor quarterback Seth Russell had something in common with the majority of the 47,598 in attendance Saturday at McLane Stadium.
Both parties were done at halftime.
With the Bears holding a commanding six-touchdown lead over Kansas, BU coach Jim Grobe chose to rest Russell for the entire second half of an eventual 49-7 victory over the Jayhawks. By the time the No. 11 Bears’ “Star Wars”-themed halftime show had ended, most of the fans departed, too.
The Jayhawks (1-5, 0-3 Big 12) haven’t been competitive in Waco in nearly a decade, losing four straight contests here by an average of 40.
