LAWRENCE — Carlton Bragg, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward from Villa Angela St. Joseph in Cleveland, signed his letter of intent Wednesday, officially becoming a Jayhawk on the first day of the spring signing period.

Bragg, a McDonald’s All-American and the Ohio Div. III player of the year, orally committed to KU on Jan. 8. He chose KU over other finalists Kentucky and Illinois. Bragg averaged 21 points and eight rebounds as a senior on a team that won the state title. He also is ranked 15th by Rivals.

“We're so excited to have Carlton on board,” said KU coach Bill Self.
