LAWRENCE — Was Cliff Alexander dealt a bad hand during his one season with the KU basketball team?

The 6-foot-8, 240-pound forward seems to think so.

"I got dealt a bad deck of cards when I was at Kansas," Alexander told DraftExpress.com recently. "It just didn't go as I planned it. It was just an off situation, so I just have to move forward and move on with everything."

Alexander, who averaged 17.6 minutes per game during his freshman season before an end-of-season suspension, has declared for the NBA Draft. When asked why he didn't play more, he said, "I'm going to leave that to coach (Bill) Self.
