Kansas forward Perry Ellis scored 22 points on his senior day and added a crucial hustle play late, helping the top-ranked Jayhawks to an 85-78 victory over No. 21 Iowa State on Saturday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse.
Ellis’ best play might have come on a dive. With 2:32 left, he took a headlong leap for a loose ball in front of Georges Niang, then corralled it around Abdel Nader before passing to teammate Wayne Selden. The guard sent a pass on one bounce to Devonte’ Graham, who put in a layup to make it 74-71 and bring the KU fans to their feet.
