Wayne Selden let it fly from behind half court, hoisting a basketball toward the rim from 50 feet away. As the ball floated in the air, Carlton Bragg took off for the basket, like a wide receiver running a post route. It was, in basketball terms, an audacious pass. It was also perfect, Selden finding Bragg for an alley-oop that finished with Bragg spinning around the shoulders of Montana forward Martin Breunig, and Allen Fieldhouse coming to life.
This was the defining image from No. 2 Kansas’ 88-46 demolition of Montana on Saturday afternoon, a dominating performance that gave the Jayhawks’ their eighth straight victory and 29th straight win inside this building.
