No. 2 basketball recruit Jaylen Brown reportedly eliminates Kansas from consideration

Jaylen Brown, the No. 2 overall high school basketball recruit country, will not be headed to Kansas.

Brown, a 6-foot-7 small forward, has trimmed his final list to four schools, eliminating KU, according to a report from recruiting site 24/7 Sports. Brown is still considering Cal, Kentucky, Michigan and North Carolina.

The latest recruiting news comes just two days after Kansas landed 6-foot-9 power forward Cheick Diallo, leaving KU coach Bill Self with two open scholarships. The Jayhawks previously signed 6-foot-8 forward Carlton Bragg of Cleveland.

For the moment, Kansas is still reportedly targeting small forward Tevin Mack, a former VCU commitment who re-opened his recruitment when VCU coach Shaka Smart left for Texas.
