LAWRENCE — A few minutes after last week’s Rutgers loss, Kansas quarterback Montell Cozart turned to a teammate and admitted it was the most calm he had ever felt in a football game.
Though having flu-like symptoms wasn’t fun, the sickness seemed to change the junior’s perspective.
“I felt very relaxed,” Cozart said.
His coaches could see it as well.
Cozart, who checked in for the injured Deondre Ford in the second quarter, completed 13 of 18 passes for 193 yards, giving the Jayhawks an offensive lift on a day when they averaged just 2.
