LAWRENCE — With 4 minutes, 20 seconds to go Saturday, Kansas junior Landen Lucas shuffled back on defense, looking to the crowd for motivation.
Lucas waved his arms in the air, egging the fans on, after Frank Mason hit a 3.
“I know how important this crowd is to us,” Lucas said. “No matter what, the crowd is always there for us.”
Lucas responded with energy and experience in Kansas’ closer-than-expected 75-69 victory at Allen Fieldhouse.
Moments later, after Harvard tied the game at 56, Lucas helped spark Perry Ellis’ personal 5-0 run that gave KU back the lead for good.
