No. 23 Emporia State never trailed in Saturday’s 20-13 road victory over Lindenwood at Hunter Stadium. Still, the Hornets may have got more than they bargained for.
Emporia State (5-0, 5-0 MIAA) was held to a season-low in points scored but got just enough out of quarterback Brent Wilson, who threw for 386 yards and three touchdowns to break the Hornets’ career record for touchdown passes (61).
The Lions (1-4, 1-4) cut the lead to seven with 4:41 left in the game on a 20-yard field goal by Brandon White, but the Emporia State offense would drain the rest of the clock out to finish off the victory.
