Local briefs for April 29: KU baseball falls to Arkansas-Pine Bluff

The Kansas baseball team could not overcome a rough start on Wednesday in Lawrence, dropping the opener of a two-game nonconference tilt to Arkansas-Pine Bluff 6-5.

The Jayhawks gave up five runs to the Golden Lions in the second inning after taking a 1-0 lead in the first. Connor McKay led KU offensively, smacking four hits, including a home run, and scoring three times.
