It’s official: new AD Travis Goff and the University of Kansas have announced that Buffalo’s football coach, Lance Leipold, has been named the next head football coach at Kansas.
Reports are that Leipold, 56, was very impressive in his interviews (Monken and Kane were as well), and it was widely reported to be down between Monken and Leipold over the last few days.
He becomes the 6th head coach since 2008, which was KU’s last winning season.
Leipold’s credentials are impressive, as he’s been a winner everywhere he’s been. Although he is “just” 37-33 at Buffalo, he has gone 30-16 in the last four seasons, all bowl-eligible campaigns, after starting his tenure 7-17 in his first two seasons while rebuilding the program.
