KU’s Perry Ellis is a Wooden Award finalist

Kansas senior Perry Ellis is one of 10 Wooden Award finalists, joined by Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield and Iowa State’s Georges Niang on the list.

Ellis just completed his KU career in the South Regional final loss to Villanova. He played in high school at Wichita Heights.

All 10 members of the team have maintained at least a cumulative 2.0 grade-point average and are making progress toward graduation, two components of the award that were insisted upon by the late UCLA coach, whose name is on the award.

Other finalists are Malcolm Brogdon of Virginia, Brice Johnson of North Carolina, Tyler Ulis of Kentucky, Denzel Valentine of Michigan State, Grayson Allen of Duke, Kris Dunn of Providence and Yogi Ferrell of Indiana.
