LAWRENCE — Nearing the midway point in the Kansas women’s basketball scrimmage at Late Night in the Phog, coach Brandon Schneider had something he needed to get off his chest.
Senior forward Caelynn Manning-Allen pulled up from the left elbow, just missing as her shot clanked off the rim. The shot appeared to trigger a response from Schneider, who had joined voice of the Jayhawks Brian Hanni on the call for the scrimmage.
“Now that’s—,” Schneider started.
He wouldn’t get to finish his thought. Hanni had already begun to ask him about the rotation, and Schneider paused, waiting to hear the question and delivering a short answer.
