KU women utilize bench in victory over Memphis

LAWRENCE — Halfway through the fourth quarter, sophomore Lauren Aldridge hurled a pass over the defense to the far left side of the court. Junior Jada Brown plucked the pass out of the air and swung it to junior Timeka O’Neal for the open 3.

O’Neal knocked home the shot, giving KU a seven-point lead. Two possessions earlier, Aldridge found O’Neal in the corner for a 3-pointer helping KU defeat Memphis (2-1) 72-63.

“In all three of our games (Timeka) has hit some really timely 3’s,” coach Brandon Schneider said. “They were kind of daggers.”

O’Neal had a strong game all around, scoring nine points on 3 of 6 shooting from deep.
