LAWRENCE — Kansas sophomore Lauren Aldridge set her feet and got in position as Navy’s Sarita Condie drove the lane in overtime Sunday. Aldridge stood strong and took a charge, giving KU possession. The 5-foot-7 guard stood up with a smile on her face, knowing how big a play she had just made for her team.
KU (5-4) had a tremendous second half in a 61-54 victory over Navy, outscoring the Midshipmen 30-18 after halftime and forcing the Jayhawks’ first overtime game of the season. Aldridge was huge in cutting the deficit, hitting two 3-pointers and finding her open teammates often in Sunday’s victory at Allen Fieldhouse.
