LAWRENCE — Down two points with less than a minute remaining Thursday, the Kansas women needed a stop on the defensive end. UMKC’s Samantha Waldron broke free and knocked in a 3 to give the ‘Roos a five-point lead, which proved to be too much to overcome for the Jayhawks.
For the second consecutive game, an individual performance did Kansas (4-4) in, as Kiana Law went off for a double double, recording a career-high 20 points and a season-high 10 boards. Law’s performance led UMKC to a 47-44 victory, its fifth all time against KU, and its first win in Allen Fieldhouse since January 10, 1989.
